Derek is the author of the hilarious Skulduggery Pleasant series. We caught up with Derek to find out more about the man behind the books!
Who is your favourite character in your books?
My favourite is Skulduggery, he is a joy to write. He is like a highly intelligent version of me; it is extremely nice to write about someone who is that arrogant. Valkyrie is based on a girl I know - it's nice to spend time inside her head. She's everything I wanted to be when I was younger, except a girl.
What is your favourite film?
It's Star Wars, no Jaws, no Indiana Jones, no...
What's your favourite children's book?
It's either Abarat by Clive Barker or Coraline by Neil Gaiman.
If you were Prime Minister for the day, what would you do?
First of all, I'd announce there would be a Derek Landy holiday. Then I'd solve all the world's problems.
