Meet Lauren Child
Lauren Child burst on to the children's book scene in 1999 with two fresh and funny picture books; I Want A Pet and Clarice Bean - That's Me. Her illustrations skilfully combine drawing, collage and photography, and her texts weave unconventionally through the pages. To date, Charlie and Lola have starred in a 26 episode TV series and Lauren has won the Smarties Gold Award, Smarties Bronze Award, Kate Greenaway Medal and been shortlisted for the Children's Book of the Year at the British Book Awards!
