Meet Anthony Horowitz
Anthony Horowitz

We caught up with Anthony Horowitz to find out a bit more about Scorpia Rising - the final mission
in the bestselling Alex Rider series!

Why is the book called Scorpia Rising?

The evil organisation Scorpia has come back for a third time - and they believe they're more powerful
than ever. I normally find titles difficult but this one popped into my head almost at once.
This book is largely set in Egypt and that made me think of sunrises too.

What has been the best part of writing the series?

The more I've written about Alex, the more I've got to know him - and I've loved the part of the journey.
I've always enjoyed creating memorable villains too... and giving them suitably unpleasant deaths!

What dangers does Alex face this time?

I don't want to give too much away but I can honestly say that Razim is without question the most
unpleasant villain I have created and his confrontation with Alex is memorable.
As always, there are a lot of action sequences - bombs, machine-guns, a chase with a helicopter
and a final all-out-battle in the desert.
