We love Steve Cole's Astrosaurs books so we couldn't wait to ask him some questions about his super series!
1. What's in store for the Astrosaurs in your latest book?
There's danger in the distant past as Teggs and the team time-travel back 65 million years to the last days of the dinosaurs on planet Earth - and a showdown with evil raptor General Loki...
2. How did you come up with the idea for your Astrosaurs series?
I've always found dinosaurs amazing - they're real-life monsters! - so I was sad to think they were all wiped out by a giant meteor. It's much nicer to imagine they escaped the planet in spaceships and are now enjoying intergalactic adventures!
3. What is your favourite children's book?
Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr, a scary story about a girl who draws a strange house and is trapped there when she falls asleep.
4. Who is your favourite children's author?
Stan Lee, who wrote so many of the superhero stories that grabbed my young imagination. And Roald Dahl, who wrote books with real magic.
5. What is the most exciting adventure that you've ever been on?
I did an author tour of Australia and New Zealand last year. It was amazing to meet so many fans of my books on the other side of the world.
6. Do you have any writing tips for our readers?
Write as much as possible - the more you do, the better you get. Try to build up a bank of cool ideas; then if one story doesn't work out you can crack straight on with another!
