Payment methods

Paying by credit or debit card

You can pay for books online by using any of the following credit or debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Delta, Electron. To read about the Puffin Book Club website's security and the security of your personal information, please go to Policies. Our secure server is endorsed by THAWTE - click on the logo to confirm the certificate's validity.

Other payment methods

Parents - you can take your order and payment to your child's school to be included in the school's group order. For delivery straight to your door you can phone us on 0845 606 4216 or fax your order to 0845 606 4242.

Schools - your school orders can also be sent to us by post. Please make cheques payable to Puffin Book Club. You can also place orders by phone on 0845 606 4216 or by fax on 0845 606 4242.

To spend your school's account balance, choose the "Buy with your balance" option when you select a title to buy. Alternatively, you can add the books you want to buy to your basket and then redeem your balance against some or all of the books you have added when you reach the checkout.

Please note that some books and special offers are only available online, and are not able to be purchased in any other way.

Payment security

Puffin Book Club takes internet security very seriously indeed and has taken all possible steps to keep your credit card details secure. We utilise a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) that encrypts the data stream between your browser and our server. In addition to this, our secure server is endorsed by THAWTE, an internet agency specialising in site authentication. You can click on the logo at the bottom of the page to confirm the certificate's authenticity. We believe that by taking these measures, we offer our customers the peace of mind and confidence needed to shop online with Puffin Book Club.

What is my security number?

Please enter the last three digits (security number) found on the reverse of your card on the signature strip. This is an anti-fraud security feature to help verify that you are in possession of your card.

Please be sure to enter this correctly, as the wrong information will prevent us from charging your card and delay your order.

Returns and refunds

• If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it to us in its original condition for a complete and immediate refund, within 28 days of receipt.
• If the item is damaged or incorrect our customer service team will arrange a replacement and collection.
• If, after your order has been despatched, you wish to cancel the order because you no longer require the books, you will need to send the goods back to us at your own expense. When the goods are received back in good condition we will refund you for the goods and any postage you paid on your original order only.
• Authorisation to return goods must be obtained at all times.
• Our refund guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect them in any way.

How to return

Three easy steps

1. Get in touch through our contact us section to obtain an authorisation number. Alternatively, you can call our Customer Service team 8am to 8pm seven days a week on 0845 606 4216.

2. If your goods need returning please parcel them up with the original documentation and write the authorisation number on the outside of the parcel

3. If it is a collection please leave as instructed. If returning in the post please obtain proof of postage.

Please allow up to 21 days for a refund.  Please allow 10 days for a replacement.  Damaged or faulty books will be replaced immediately when you contact us.
